Rent Smart Wales
Under the Housing (Wales) Act 2014, there are new legal obligations on landlords who have rental property in Wales.
Any landlord who has a rental property in Wales which is rented on an assured shorthold or regulated tenancy (which your properties are) is required to register. Depending on how a property is owned will determine who needs to register it.
The landlord agrees to supply Tony John & Co with evidence that they are registered correctly with Rent Smart Wales at the outset of this agreement. Should the client landlord not be registered after a period of 12 weeks from the commencement of this agreement then it is a condition of our license with Rent Smart Wales to report the landlord to them which may result in enforcement action.
